Start me Up is a great, quick read

Start me Up is a great, quick read. It’s book two in the Rockers series by Kristina Knight and can easily be read as a stand-alone.
Chase’s last girlfriend dumped him on the red carpet, creating yet another tabloid break-up story about him. He hates the gossip and stories and is tired of his love life being all over the gossips rags. Unfortunately, he has an upcoming red carpet fundraising event for his charity and needs a date. He needs someone to help stop the stories and change his broken-hearted image, someone who also knows this is just for the press, just one night, no strings, no commitment. That’s where Nina comes in. Nina is a matchmaker in LA, she can set him up with just what he needs.
Nina has also been hit with nasty stories in the gossip rags who are now calling her the Hollywood Madam. Her business is all about love-finding meaningful, lasting relationships-not about escorts or one-night stands. She needs something new for them to focus on, a way to eliminate the Madam stories and get the focus back onto the real nature of her business. Plus, she has her father breathing down her neck and wanting the business closed for good.
Chase goes into Nina’s office requesting one thing, but comes away with something completely different, something that would benefit both of them.
I loved the story of Chase and Nina. It’s a great book to pick up if you want something to curl up with for a few hours and get away. No real angst, just a great budding romance story where two people meet, set up a plan that would benefit both of their business needs, but end up finding so much more when they open their hearts and eyes and see what could be. I’m enjoying the Rocker series and am looking forward to book 3.

This book may be short but it is full of everything needed to make it one great read! Nina is in business in Hollywood, but stays far away from those types, except when it comes to business. She is heading up the business her aunt left her and then scandal hits and her clients start leaving quicker than her email can ding to notify her of a new message. Enter Chase who has his own issues after being dumped quite publicly by his model girlfriend. He wants someone for one night to be arm candy and Nina is not about to do that when they come to an agreement. The chemistry between these two is something you can only drool over as you read. They are so good together, but both have their own issues. Chase finds himself wanting things he never thought he would ever want and Nina begins to think not all Hollywood types are like her ex. I loved how strong Nina is and how she stands up to the men in her life including her father. The scene with the board of directors made me stand up and cheer for her! Chase is great and I loved how his gentle side made him seem even more irresistible. The background characters were weaved throughout and helped tell the story. Great read!

A Matchmaker Extraordinaire

Start Me Up, book 2 in the Anthem series, is a great short read. You can definitely sit down and enjoy the whole book in one evening. It can be read as a stand alone, if you haven't read book 1, although Lily and Nate do make appearances, it's still easy to follow if you haven't read their story.
I enjoyed the premise of the matchmaker and the celebrity, it was a fun spin! Nina was all business, loved her charts and spreadsheets, while Chase was more spontaneous, so watching the 2 of them build a relationship was entertaining. I loved how Nina comes out of her shell, to follow her dream and do what she wants, there's definitely growth to her character. I enjoyed Chase's struggle with being open to love, and how he handles the fall.
Overall, it's a fun read that I would recommend to any romance lover. I do hope to see a book 3 with Cassidy's HEA in it. I look forward to more from Kristina Knight.
