~~ A modern day trip, the old fashioned way ~~

Taking a trip back in time? Nope! The original book is the story of Rinker and his brother, Nick, as they relive the journey of the Oregon Trail taken by those in the 19th century. Starting in Kansas in June 2011, the two brothers followed one of the original trails in a traditional mule-drawn wagon. Although Nick was very knowledgeable about wagons and mules, he chose to keep quiet when he saw some problems with the wagon that Rinker had purchased. Only traveling 20 miles a day, this Instaread summary is absolutely fascinating.
The 'Character Analysis' and 'Character Relationships' sections along with some of the themes discuss the relationship between the two brothers and how they changed through the trip. Tom, the boys' father, although deceased played an important role as many memories surfaced on the trip and Rinker came to a better understanding of who his father really was. Some of the other themes are:

This is an overview of the actual book The Oregon Trail. It's kind of like a cliff's notes for the full book. It provides a potential reader more than enough information regarding this book’s plots, characters and content to determine if we want to invest the extra money and time to actually buy and read the entire book. As an avid reader I have personally found “Instaread” to be very helpful and a valuable service.

Rinker Buck’s The Oregon Trail: A New American Journey chronicles the journey he and his brother took, following the trail taken by nineteenth-century pioneers. Just the title makes it sound like a good book, but it helps if you have an objective review before having to invest in it.
Well, you do. Summary & Analysis of Rinker Buck’s The Oregon Trail by Instaread, gives an overview of Buck’s work, an introduction to the important people in the book, and a comprehensive analysis of the book’s themes and the author’s writing style.
After reading this summary, I was encouraged to get the book and read it for myself.
